Every cat is cute in her own unique way. But, in my humble opinion, there’s something about fluffy felines that just makes my heart skip a beat.

These fluffs look like living teddy bears and are perfect cuddle buddies. Their luxurious furs are soft, silky, and comforting, and hugging them can make you feel happy, and like all your troubles are far, far away.

And usually, they have a proper loving attitude to go with their purrfect coats.

If you are a fan of fluffy felines yourself, and you want to find out what are the fluffiest breeds of them all, this is the perfect article for you!

1. American Curl cat

We start with a very special breed. The American Curl cat can have either short or semi-long hair. No matter the length of the fur, you can rest assured it’s incredibly silky and smooth.

This cat has a very friendly face and always looks like she’s genuinely surprised and happy to see you. But, her most prominent feature is probably her adorable and unique-looking, curled-back ears.

This breed is extremely people-oriented and fun to be around. She gets along well with both children and adults and can even work well with other felines or dogs. She is a sweet, affectionate, and playful kitty who tends to act like a kitten throughout her entire life.

2. Birman cat

People claim this is one of the laziest felines in the world. She is such a couch potato, who loves to cuddle with her owner, but also enjoys following him around the house, sticking her adorable nose into his business.

She can be playful if necessary but is not a troublemaker. She’s very gentle and social, and extremely patient with kids.

Her fur is medium to long and extremely soft to the touch. This cat often comes in a pointed pattern and tends to have a beautiful mane around her neck.

3. Himalayan cat

It’s all about that fluff with this one. Himalayan cats are a mixed breed with long and luscious fur that comes in a variety of colors, like chocolate, seal, red, blue, blue-cream, and others. Their fur is very soft and has to be brushed daily.

This feline is known for her loving personality and gentle nature. She loves lying in her owner’s lap and cuddling for hours but is very reserved with people she’s not familiar with. She is well-mannered but somewhat shy and prefers quiet and serene environments.

What’s good about this fluff is that she doesn’t mind staying alone at home. She’s not a breed that will make a mess and cause an unpleasant scene, but rather a breed that’ll patiently wait for her owner’s return.

4. Maine Coon cat

Maine Coon cat is not only fluffy but huge! She’s known as a gentle giant, which is truly a great and appropriate nickname for her. She’s a sweet, affectionate, and friendly feline with a curious and playful nature.

Her coat is often described as shaggy, and it appears to be shorter on the shoulders and longer on her stomach. She also has an adorable bushy tail and tufted ears and paws. Her fur is also incredibly soft and silky you can barely resist cuddling it all day long.

This feline is a great life companion, and she tends to form a strong bond with her owner.

5. Norwegian Forest cat

Look at this beauty! Norwegian Forest cat is truly one of a kind! She is big and athletic and also loves to climb on top of her owner’s furniture. She is very independent and doesn’t consider herself to be much of an attention seeker. She has a very laid-back nature and doesn’t require a lot to be happy and content.

Her beautiful fluff is long, dense, smooth, and glossy, and it comes in various fun patterns and shadings. Her coat has to be brushed regularly, at least once per week, so it doesn’t get matted.

Even though you might want to cuddle with this furball all day long, don’t be surprised if she decided to sit close to you, instead on your lap. She’s not the biggest fan of constant cuddles but she truly does enjoy your company (although from a distance).

6. Persian cat

If the term “lap cat” had to have a picture next to it in the dictionary, it would most definitely be a picture of a Persian cat. This gentle and relaxed feline prefers quiet and calm environments and enjoys cuddling with her favorite person on the couch.

Her fluff is long and thick and comes in many different colors like white, blue, black, cream, chocolate, and red, with white being the most desired one. Due to its length and thickness, it simply has to be brushed daily, which is usually a relaxing activity for both the Persian beauty and her owner.

This cat has a very friendly nature but prefers to observe the people she doesn’t know from a safe distance.

7. Ragdoll cat

Ragdoll is probably one of the cutest cats out there. She is exceptionally affectionate, gentle, and friendly, and gets along well with humans of all ages. She doesn’t mind being carried around like a baby and loves to be cuddled all day long.

Her coat is semi-long and very silky and comes in various colors, like chocolate, lilac, or cream. She also often sports different patterns like bi-color, van, colorpoint, and mitted.

This breed is also very playful and intelligent and can be taught many interesting tricks. She’s also famous for getting along pretty well with other felines and even dogs.

8. Siberian cat

Lastly, we have a Siberian cat. This feline is extremely friendly and affectionate and tends to form an unbreakable bond with her owner. She loves to follow him around and jump on countertops to see what he is up to.

She is very playful and energetic and loves playing different kinds of interactive games. She also adores water and doesn’t mind bath times. Unlike some other breeds on this list, she gets along well with people of all ages and can be a great buddy to other felines or dogs.

Her coat is semi-long but very thick, and it comes in different colors and patterns, like white, black, cream, or silver. Because of its thickness, it has to be brushed at least three times per week (if not more).

However, this is something that any Siberian fluff enjoys. I can say this with confidence because this feline purrs every time she’s being groomed.
