They’re rare because of the crossbreeding that took place to build up the Persian breed – they were close to becoming extinct, which happens to be the reason why they’re one of the only domestic breeds you can see at a zoo.
6. Maine Coon
Maine Coons are large, lovable cats who like running around, hopping on the highest trees and the biggest kitchen counters, as well as knocking things down. Maine Coons are attached to humans and they’re known to appreciate hanging out, snuggling, and sleeping with them.

8. Scottish Fold
We come to the end of the article with one of Taylor Swift’s favorite breeds, the Scottish Fold. Scottish Fold cats are unique because they’re a little different from other cats we mentioned beforehand.
They’re named after the fact that their ears are “folded” and they’re known for their round heads, almond-shaped eyes, and thick bodies.
They were uncovered because of the genetic mutation that causes folded ears, but they became popular because of their carefree, comfortable, and affectionate temperaments. And, they’re rumored to appear even more adorable when they’re sporting a black-and-white tuxedo.
