New Jersey Cat Refuses to Be Overlooked After 9 Months in Shelter

Sometimes, it’s the underdog—or under-cat—who teaches us the most about patience, hope, and what it means to truly be seen. Biggie, a white-and-tabby cat under a year old, has been doing just that at the Clifton Animal Shelter, New Jersey. Though he arrived scared and nervous after his owner fell ill, he’s spent nine months in the shelter, doing his best to catch someone’s eye—and now his spirit is finally shining through.

From Fearful Beginnings to Finding Courage

Biggie came into the shelter with big challenges. He was barely a year old when his owner became unable to care for him, and Biggie landed in Clifton Animal Shelter.
